The Better of Two Evils - A Cold Vs A Cancer?
For the last 20 years or so, I have described myself
as "Financially Conservative, Socially Liberal", although I generally
leaned Republican. My politics these days have changed to simply "Anti
Trump" and "Anti MAGA". IMHO Trump is a dishonest, corrupt,
nasty, incompetent, ignorant narcissist with very strong dictator instincts. As
President, Trump is a ticking bomb that can explode at any time and none of us
knows the damage that may result.
The following comments and record is only meant for
me. I find writing thoughts and ideas help me to organize my old brain. Plus I
want my own history of the next 4 years.
KAMALA AND THE DEMOCRATS
Kamala and the Democrats lost this election because
they are not very bright and somewhat scared of their own shadow. IMHO these
are the specific issues that lost the election:
1. Immigration: Is out of control and
obviously a majority of voters are concerned. Its not only an issue of volume,
but also an issue of lack of control. I simply do not understand why Biden and
the Democrats allowed the immigration situation to fester and give the MAGA
Republicans such an easy election advantage.
2. Inflation: The USA economy has been
primed for inflation for the last couple of decades by Government overspending
and especially by Federal Reserve Bank policies that resulted in interest rates
of less than 1%, and 8 trillion dollars of "Quantitative Easing" (AKA
printing money). This policy is totally ignorant and laid a foundation for
inflation. COVID was just the match (or maybe the blow torch) that ignited the
fire.
Other than his contribution to the National Debt,
Biden generally did a good job on the economy through COVID and the subsequent
economic recovery and soft landing. He needed to give the economy a boost as we
emerged from COVID, and I think its just "hindsight" to say the boost
was too great. At the end of his term the USA economy is the envy of the world
- although the National Debt is a serious and growing problem.
Kamala's response to inflation seemed to be based upon
a hope that "people would forget" and be impressed by the economy's
growth since COVID and the promised "soft landing". But people are
still upset about being ripped off by the higher Cost of Living and had to
blame someone.
IMHO the Democrats could have pushed back by pointing
out how many Republicans were to blame. COVID created the
"opportunity" and most of the big store owners and operators that
lead the price increases are major Republican supporters and donors. Plus Trump
started the import tariffs.
3. "Woke": Being reasonably aware and
considerate of LGBTQ people and other minorities is really just about being a
decent human being. LGBTQ or black or Native American (or whatever) people
should not be persecuted or marginalized, but on the other hand they do not
more rights than the rest of us.
The MAGA Republicans do not seem to promote solutions
to the real issue we face - the growing National debt, Global warming,
Homelessness, the Chinese threat, the Ukraine war, Uncontrolled Immigration,
Gun violence, Drug abuse and more. So to divert our attention they focus on
such a non-issue as "Wokeness" and stupid people eat it up. I have to
wonder how many people are concerned that one of their kids will come home from
school "the other sex". Narrow minded morons.
On the other hand, why the "Cleveland
Indians" become the "Guardians" is also a mystery to
me.
4. The Afghanistan withdrawal.
5. The Federal Debt
6. Global Warming and Fossil Fuels

What was good about the 4 Biden Years?
1. Peace and quiet
2. The economy
3. The share market
TRUMP and the MAGA Republicans
The only good thing about this election result is that
we did not have to live thru Trump throwing a bunch unsupported accusations at
the election process, and maybe organizing another attack on Congress.
Kamala and the Democrats were not much of an
alternative, but Trump and the MAGA Republicans are a terrible choice. Its like
comparing getting a cold with discovering that you have incurable testicular
cancer.
So what is so wrong about Trump? Let me list my
reasons that he is a terrible choice for President:
Trump is an incurable serial liar.
How can we trust a President who will lie with abandon
about anything - important or trivial. There have been so many I will only

1. "I won the 2020 election." That Biden and
the Democrats pulled off a massive election fraud and stole the election from
Trump. Its amazing how such a stupid and incompetent government made such a
mess of the country over the last four years, but were able to carry out a huge
electoral fraud without being caught at all. Amazing!
2. "I never paid any money to Stormy
Daniels."
3. "Schools are sending children for
gender-affirming surgeries without their parents’ knowledge.
4. President Joe Biden sent Harris to negotiate
with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2022 in an effort to prevent an
invasion of Ukraine.
5. That Trump was named “Man of the Year” in
Michigan before he entered politics.
6. That he did not take Confidential documents to Mar
Largo after he left the Whitehouse
7. That Haitian immigrants were eating cats and dogs
in Springfield Ohio.
8. That the Mexicans will pay for the wall.
9. President Trump on Covid. “We’re
doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go
away,”
10. That the crowd of 10,000 plus people greeting
Harris on XX/XX were not real - that the video was faked.
11. That he won the October 2024 debate against Harris
Trump is corrupt.
